Industries that use rice husk as fuel face a huge and expensive challenge of dumping the rice husk ash due to stringent pollution norms. Our award-winning technology extracts highly dispersible precipitated silica from it through a zero-waste chemical process, making rice husk a greener fuel compared to other conventional fuels. Green House Gas emission savings from using rice husk as a fuel for power generation can save about 1 ton of GHG emissions per ton of fuel used compared to other more conventional power sources.
Additionally, there is currently no other use for rice husk ash, which is often dumped on open grounds. Due to the low density of the material, the particles cause air pollution which can be greatly reduced by our technology.
The current, more prevalent method of producing silica uses sand as a base material, and this process requires a really high temperature (around 1500 C), as compared to our process which requires significantly lesser temperature. The low energy required in the process saves about 4000 MJ per ton of silica produced, which is about 20% of the total energy consumption, making our process very energy efficient.
Similarly, using our silica in your products such are tires, toothpastes, paints, plastics, etc. can make your product greener and your process more environmentally friendly, that may result in subsidies, tax benefits, grants, etc. from the government.
